Los Alamos National Laboratory to trim workforce
Los Alamos National Laboratory plans to reduce its workforce by between 400 and 800 employees this spring, according to an announcement made late Tuesday afternoon by Lab Director Charlie McMillan, lamonitor.com reports.
The plan must first be submitted to the National Nuclear Security Administration for approval. The workforce reduction is structured as a voluntary separation program intended to “reduce the risks of involuntary layoffs,” according to McMillan.
